Damaged Hero is a story of death, life, love, and suspense。 Samson had been laying in a hospital bed in a coma for a long time。 Foster, his younger brother had been released from prison and was working at Anderson Ranch。 He was following the orders of Samson to take care of Shayley his "sister-in-law" as Samson and his crew lived off the grid and his anti- government sentiments kept him from legally marrying her but to Samson and his crew she was his wife。 She also was 8 months pregnant with Sam Damaged Hero is a story of death, life, love, and suspense。 Samson had been laying in a hospital bed in a coma for a long time。 Foster, his younger brother had been released from prison and was working at Anderson Ranch。 He was following the orders of Samson to take care of Shayley his "sister-in-law" as Samson and his crew lived off the grid and his anti- government sentiments kept him from legally marrying her but to Samson and his crew she was his wife。 She also was 8 months pregnant with Samson's child。 So the day the hospital called and told Shayley that Samson was awake she ran to tell Foster and off to the hospital they went。 What they find is not good news and Shayley, sitting on the bed beside Samson is upset that he is telling them he is dying。 He tells Foster everything has been placed in his name。 The ranch, the majority of the security company, his life insurance policy and his savings。 He asks Foster to take care of Shayley and his baby。 Shayley is so upset and has a sharp pain。 Her water breaks and starts soaking into the mattress。 Shayley is so upset and hurting and she said "what's happening? I love the cover! Shayley and Foster are a perfect match and I really enjoyed their story。 There is sadness, mystery, suspense and a whole lot of clean romance。
MerryMe,
Another good story in this series。 Foster's in love with Shayley, but she's in love with his brother, a former marine, who's returned home with PTSD and other issues。 Shayley is also just about to give birth to his brother's child。 Meanwhile, Foster sees himself as a lowly jailbird who will never amount to much。 Then his brother dies and Foster inherits the Kane ranch and security company。 Fortunately, Brody, Star and Bree encourage him, his partner Lyon is there to offer advice and take the hea Another good story in this series。 Foster's in love with Shayley, but she's in love with his brother, a former marine, who's returned home with PTSD and other issues。 Shayley is also just about to give birth to his brother's child。 Meanwhile, Foster sees himself as a lowly jailbird who will never amount to much。 Then his brother dies and Foster inherits the Kane ranch and security company。 Fortunately, Brody, Star and Bree encourage him, his partner Lyon is there to offer advice and take the heat for unpopular decisions, and Shayley believes in him, too。 Then an explosion rocks his cabin and bullets start flying。 Then suspicion falls on Foster and Shayley is willing to do anything it takes to clear Foster's name even if it puts her in danger。 This is an action-packed, quick, clean read about Foster and Shayley's HEA in the tight-knit community of the Anderson and Kane Ranches where they befriend and help one another。 I was given an ARC and this is my honest review。 。。。more
LaRae Galloway,
Seemed a little strange at first that Foster liked his almost sister in law but it clicked into place! This storyline was unique and had lots of face paced moments! Great story and characters。 I received a copy from the author for my honest review。

Marie,
So much tragedy。。。。。。。but that heartbreak draws Shayley and Foster together, making their bond stronger than ever!Foster is so hard on himself and has very low self esteem, which makes you want to pull him into your arms and hug him。 Whilst Foster is super attentive and obviously loves Shayley, I struggle with Samson and his treatment of her, for me it puts a shadow over the book。 I read this on Kindle Unlimited, it is not my favourite of the series, but I still look forward to more。
Valri Western,
I absolutely loved this story! Shayley is pregnant and about to give birth。 The father is in a coma in the hospital。 He never bothered to marry her because he was "anti-government" and said a piece of paper didn't make them married but Shayley always wanted to really be married。 When tragedy strikes and the unthinkable happens, Foster, the brother of her "husband" is there for her like he always is。 Foster has always been in love with Shayley but kept it a secret out of respect for his brother。 I absolutely loved this story! As usual, I can't wait for the next book! 。。。more
Cindy,
This is the 4th book in the Born in TX Hometown series and involves Foster and Shaylee who were introduced in prior books。 I do recommend reading these books in order because the characters develop through the series, although each book is about a different couple。 These books have friendship, romance, suspense, sometimes tragedy but always a HEA ending。 Highly recommend!
Sandy,
Second ChancesWe all look for them in various ways。 Foster wanted a second chance with Shayley and his brother's company needed one also。 Love this ranch and the people there。 They're always willing to help in any way。 Romance, intrigue, grief and moving ahead are all there with good characterization。 Worth the read。Received ARC and this is my honest review。 Second ChancesWe all look for them in various ways。 Foster wanted a second chance with Shayley and his brother's company needed one also。 Love this ranch and the people there。 They're always willing to help in any way。 Romance, intrigue, grief and moving ahead are all there with good characterization。 Worth the read。Received ARC and this is my honest review。 。。。more

I loved Foster and Shayley's story!! Foster was drawn to Shayley from the start, which wasn't a good thing, since she was his brother's "wife", though his brother didn't bother marrying her。 Now, his brother is in the hospital in a coma, Shayley is expecting their baby, and Foster is trying to protect them all。 Foster thinks everyone sees him as a total screw up, not worthy of their time or attention。 Others, however, really see his potential to do well, and when he needs friends, he's got some I loved Foster and Shayley's story!!
